This is a good centre for touring, just 5 miles from Loch Ness, 20 miles from Inverness, with Fort William and the North West Coast easily accessible. The chalets all have pine interiors and provide comfortable, well-appointed holiday accommodation. Managed by the resident owners, the chalets are reached by a fairly steep narrow track and each has a parking space.The Steading Bar/Restaurant is at the park entrance. From the hide at the visitor centre you can watch a breeding pair of Osprey, who take up residence for most of the summer, as well as otters , red squirrels, pine martins and an abundance of wildlife. Golfers are spoilt for choice; Dunkeld has its own 18 hole course and there are courses in Aberfeldy, Crieff, Blairgowrie and Pitlochry, and of course St Andrews and Gleneagles all within an hour's drive. For the outdoor enthusiast there are a great number of walks locally including the well known Hermitage where you can visit Ossian's Cave, named after a hermit, and Ossian's Hall, a folly from which you can admire the waterfall below. In a wonderfully scenic location in the heart of the Great Glen, this small group of south-facing Scandinavian pine log lodges all have superb panoramic views of Loch Lochy and the mountain range beyond. To the rear, Ben Tee rises to nearly 3000 ft, ideal for climbing and walking. The Great Glen long distance trail passes the entrance to the chalet park and is very popular with walkers, cyclists and mountaineers. Free fishing is available on Loch Lochy and the use of a boat with ghillie can be arranged at extra cost. Permits are also available for salmon and trout fishing on surrounding rivers and lochs. Water sports centre 3 miles and in the winter months, skiing and snow-boarding can be enjoyed at Nevis Range. This is also a good central base for exploring the majestic scenery and many historic castles and monuments which lie along the Great Glen from Inverness to Fort William. Horse-riding and golf are available at Fort Augustus, where cruises on the Caledonian Canal can also be enjoyed. For those interested in natural history, the area abounds with wildlife - deer, osprey, pine martens, golden eagles and buzzards, to name a few. The pine martens resident near the lodges regularly visit the verandahs to be fed their favourite titbits of a jam or peanut butter piece. Seasonal pub 1.5 miles, small shop 3 miles, general store and pubs at Invergarry (5 miles). The lodges are beautifully sited at the top of a steep slope and have been double glazed and furbished with new furnishings and double glazing throughout to create a warm, welcoming and very comfortable atmosphere. The last half mile to the lodges is on a rough track road. A stock-proof fence surrounds the 5 acre area in which the lodges are sited.
